Site Coordinator


University Settlement, New York, NY

Overview: University Settlement, established in 1886 in the Lower East Side, operates a 42,000 square-foot community facility that includes recreational, fitness, classroom, meeting and office space for the community. The Site Coordinator will be responsible for scheduling organizations on scheduling software, communicating with external and internal organizations, helping to market and grow the community center, providing excellent customer services, and regular monitoring of center activities in University Settlement’s spaces. In addition, s/he will be an active member of the team that fulfills the mission of University Settlement and the Center.

Responsibilities:
Scheduling and coordinating space usage using appropriate software.
Communicating with or external organizations and other internal programs.
Assisting in marketing the space and programs through the use of newsletter, fliers, and other media.
Front desk and phone reception, tours, information sharing and customer relations with all inquiries.
Physically roving the center, in coordination with other center staff, during high use times and at regular intervals, to ensure safety and proper use of the center.
Assure daily and hourly renters have reserved resources ready and available; trouble-shoot and address problems with users, equipment, spaces in coordination with the Community Coordinator, Center Assistant Director, Center Director, and YMCA partners.
Develop and maintain system for sharing information and schedules for all community-based organization users (e.g., brochures, schedules or other materials and signage that will notify the community of all activities in the center), encouraging collaborative relationships.
Data-entry and use of scheduling software.
Assist with billing and other center correspondence, reporting and administrative duties.
Assist with public relations and fundraising activities (events, mailings, press contacts, material development, etc.).
Other duties as assigned by Assistant Director.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate's degree and significant related experience may substitute.
Prior marketing or customer relations experience required; experience in a non-profit setting preferred.
Excellent communication and computer skills, understanding of neighboring communities, and cultural competency required.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a collaborative team.
Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving ability and crisis intervention skills required.
Bi-lingual Chinese or Spanish strongly preferred.

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Monday–Friday 11:00–7:00 pm, some flexibility may be required).

Salary: $30K, plus excellent health and benefits package.
