Activ Children and Parent Services (ACAPS), a division of Activ, Inc. (a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation) is seeking a bright, energetic and passionate individual to Teach Pre-K children base on the creative curriculum. The MISSION of ACAPS is to provide high quality Early Childhood Education and child-care programs as well as free parenting and financial planning counseling for low-income families. Our VISION is to provide free Early Childhood Education and out-of school programs for all families, regardless of income. We firmly support the scientific evidence that educating children, starting at infancy, will produce significantly improved elementary and high school students at a fraction of the cost required to improve school performance today.

Reports To: Associate Director

Status: Salary based on Bright from Start guidelines and experience/Educational level.

Position Description: As part of the Pre-K team, you will be the lead teacher with an assistant teacher in a class of 20 children.

Responsibilities:
Teach a class of 20 pre-school children according to the “Bright from the Start” (BFS)
Prepare lesson plans.
Take the required BFS and DHR training courses
Obtain the necessary teaching credentials as specified by BFS and DHR.
Conduct parent/teacher conferences as specified by Activ Children and Parent Services (ACAPS)

Job Qualifications:
Minimum of a two year technical degree in Early Childhood Education.
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
You must love working with children and youth
