The Hawkins Center in Richmond, California, a
few miles north of Oakland, now has two positions available. The Hawkins
Center is a non-profit legal agency that focuses primarily on representing
people who are applying for SSDI or SSI benefits.
Staff Attorney - Disability Advocate The Staff Attorney provides representation at all stages of the application process including federal court appeals, with most cases at the administrative hearing level. Secretary/Administrative Assistant The legal secretary will assist the attorneys in preparing and documenting Social Security cases. Duties include ordering medical records, following up to ensure records are obtained, organizing case files, communicating with clients, reparing correspondence, and other similar duties.
