Fellowships
for Graduate Study Available for "New Americans"

The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for
New Americans has announced that the deadline for applying for financial
fellowships is November 30, 2002. This program is to help New Americans,
those with Green Cards or Naturalized Citizens, realize their potential
and become leaders in whatever field they choose to study by helping
them out with the cost of graduate school.
Thirty (30) students will be chosen
out of all applicants for a fellowship for two years of graduate
study in a professional field such as medicine or law, or a scholarly
field, such as social science. Those chosen will be given a $20,000
maintenance yearly grant and a grant for one half the cost of tuition
for the program.
To be eligible for these awards you
must:
- Either have a green card, be a naturalized citizen
or have parents who are naturalized citizens
- Not be older than 30 on November 30, 2002
- Either be a senior in college, have a bachelors
degree already, or be in your first or second year of graduate
school
- Be able to demonstrate your ability to do grad
level work in the field you choose
- Be creative, persistent, work hard, and be committed
to the US Constitution and Bill of Rights
